INDUSTRY: Magazine

Magazine: Heat.
Official Magazine: UK

Heat Magazine- British entertainment magazine published by Bauer Consumer Media. As of 2004 it is one of the biggest selling magazines in the UK, with a regular circulation over half a million. Its mix of celebrity news, gossip and fashion is primarily aimed at women, although not as directly as in other women's magazines. It also features movie and music reviews, TV listings and major celebrity interviews.

The Magazines house style is very much that of celebrity gossip, high street fashion and advertising. the main feature on both the front cover and throughout the magazine is adverts, whether its a company advertising its product, the magazine advertising celebrity life style or just simple highstreet fashion. The adverts are layed out in a way that draws immediate attention of the reader. The main focus is a picture of the product with a large caption or heading stating what it is and all of its "incredible" features and what you can expect from the product.

I think that the audience would be teenagers to young adults between the age of 15 and 30 and the magazine would be aimed for women. But, considering the fact that the mostly every woman whatever age loves a bit of celeb gossip and fashion advise the magazine is open to everyone interested.

The magazine's design follows the same approximate structure each issue. Recurring segments include:

- The Cover story, meaning the main storys of the week published on the front cover.

- The Celebs, All the celebrity gossip is at the front of the magazine.

- StarStyle, This is all about what the celebrities are wearing and how you can wear it for less at highstreet prices.

- TV Reviews.
